Starr King Parent-Child Workshop has been a guiding light in early childhood education in Santa Barbara since 1949. Offering a hands-on, play-based learning experience for pre-school children, Starr King’s child-development professionals and parents work cooperatively to inspire children’s extraordinary capabilities.

  • talk with other parents and with trained persons about your child’s growth
  • learn more about early childhood
  • education and how vital parents are to the entire school life of their children
  • expand your parenting skills and get help and support for any parenting and/or family problems as they arise
  • learn by observing experienced teachers and other parents working with children
  • achieve some degree of objectivity concerning your child
  • be able to observe your child in relation to a group of youngsters of approximately the same age
  • take part in a cooperative venture, with opportunity for serving on the board in a variety of capacities

  • make friends in a nonsectarian group, varied as to education and economic and ethnic character
